What is Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT)?

Dialectical Behavior Therapy was originally created to help people experiencing chronic suicidality, poor impulse control and emotion dysregulation. Overtime DBT has proven to be helpful for people with a variety of diagnoses and conditions. Comprehensive DBT treatment involves weekly individual therapy, weekly DBT skills group and phone coaching (provided by the individual therapist). Skills groups have shown to be one of the most effective elements in the comprehensive DBT treatment.
